Dr. Leverett Butts, author of the award-winning Guns of the Waste Land series, discusses his writing habits and leads a two-hour workshop on using Joseph Campbell's stages of the hero's journey to assist in plotting and Carl Jung's archetypes to help in character creation.

About Dr. Leverett Butts:
Dr. Butts teaches American literature at the University of North Georgia in Gainesville. He is the author of Emily's Stitches: The Confessions of Thomas Calloway and Other Stories, nominated for the 2013 Georgia Author of the Year Award in Short Fiction and the Guns of the Waste Land series, the first volume of which won the 2010 TAG Publishing "Great American Novel Award, and the second volume of which was nominated for the 2016 Georgia Author of the Year Award in Science Fiction/Fantasy.
