Authors Shanda McCloskey and Kristy Hamby will discuss the writing process and their experience with publishing. Publishers Angela DeCaires and Steve Floyd will discuss the differences between independent and traditional publishing, as well as tips for navigating the publishing business.
Questions from the audience will be welcomed in this panel-style discussion of writing and publishing.

Shanda McCloskey is the author and illustrator of the picture book Doll-E 1.0 and the forthcoming T-Bone the Drone, published by Little Brown Books for Young Readers.
Kristy Hamby is the author of Chicken Lips, published by Mascot Books, the story of a silly cow on his quest to discover the meaning behind his name.
Angela DeCaires is the CEO of BookLogix, an Alpharetta-based non-traditional publishing company that works with authors to produce independently published books stand toe-to-toe with traditionally published books.
Steve Floyd is the CEO and Publisher of August House Publishing, an Atlanta-based publishing company with a 30-year history of curating an award-winning selection of picture books, story collections, and resource books from the world’s great oral and folktale traditions.
