What drives a simple farmer’s son to become a legend of the American West?

Explore the history of Wyatt Earp’s life with Mark Warren, author of the forthcoming historical novel Promised Land, the final installment of the Wyatt Earp: An American Odyssey trilogy. Warren will discuss the avenues he explored while researching material for the trilogy, as well as the ways the people, places, and circumstances of Earp’s life shaped his experience and made him a force to be reckoned with.

About Mark Warren:

Mark is a scientist, naturalist, composer, author, educator and a lifelong student of Native American history and survival skills, as well as Western history with a special focus on Wyatt Earp.

He teaches tracking, archery, survival skills, history, botany, and ecology at Medicine Bow Wilderness School in north Georgia. His four-volume Secrets of the Forest series includes hundreds of original activities for teachers and students that are richly illustrated and enhanced by definitive photographs.

The first two books in the Wyatt Earp: An American Odyssey trilogy, Adobe Moon and Born to the Badge, are available in the library’s collection. Learn more at MedicineBow.net.
