Go outside, for Science! Explore the world around you and collect data for real world science projects.

Project Budburst invites citizens across the United States to take note of the moment spring arrives by observing at least one plant in their yard and reporting the days of budburst and flowering. You'll be helping scientists at the Chicago Botanical Gardens with their study of the changes in the timing of seasonal events, or Phenology. 

Stop by the library to share what plant you're watching and when it entered budburst and/or flowering or share with us on our social media accounts.
